Brian Hedges joined Paragon in September 2021 as President and CEO. Previously, Brian was a partner with Mengel Metzger Barr in Rochester, New York, where he performed transaction advisory services and developed strong forensic accounting and business valuation niche practices. When we asked Brian about his move to Paragon, he said, ““While I enjoyed every minute of my accounting practice, I saw the opportunity to lead a company with incredible potential in the HR compliance space. The technology platform is built in such a way that the business can quickly grow in scale.”

What’s your favorite vacation spot? Or dream vacation? Technically this wasn’t a “vacation”, but in college I met my wife, Kim studying abroad in Fremantle, Australia (a suburb town outside of Perth). It was an amazing 4+ month experience traveling around the southern hemisphere – including Singapore, Thailand, New Zealand, and many parts of Australia. During that time, we had a very memorable weekend in Rottnest Island, a small sleepy town about 10 miles off of the coast of Perth. There were no public automobiles allowed on the island and there were some very strange native creature (quokkas – they are a peculiar mix of a kangaroo and a squirrel!!).
Dream vacation would be to spend some time touring around Santiago, Chile and Mendoza, Argentina including a hike to Machu Picchu. We didn’t make that trip happen before kids came along!
