We are pleased to announce our new Diversity Training online module. Written and developed by our own labor & employment attorneys, our training program covers topics such as:
What is diversity and why is it an important part of the organizational culture?
How can I support workplace diversity?
What is a stereotype?
How your communication is filtered through your cultural perspective
How to be culturally competent
Though some states currently require sexual harassment prevention training, diversity training is not yet mandated. Despite that, all employees share in the responsibility to create and maintain an environment that is inclusive and respectful to all. Moreover, we at Paragon expect to see required diversity training coming for organizations.
Our training program is thought-provoking, providing real-world examples and practice pointers. In a recent “Ask HR” article, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) President and Chief Executive Officer Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., SHRM-SCP, stated the following:
44 percent of HR professionals report intensified political volatility at work this year [2020] compared to previous years. …We’ve actually been socialized not to talk about politics, religion, or race at work. But in today’s changing landscape, diversity, equity, and inclusion training is one important step to bridging this divide. … I’m of the firm belief that change requires us to learn from one another and grow in order to create progress in our workplaces and in the world around us.
Now is the time to train your workforce and continue the important work of fostering diversity in the workplace.
